Why Are the 6 April 2010 Council Minutes Not Posted Online?

The 19 April 2010 Aberdeen Township Council agenda is finally available online for tomorrow's meeting, but the minutes of the 6 April 2010 meeting have yet to be published at the township's website. How can the public adequately prepare for tomorrow's meetings when the resolution in question was not included in the published 6 April agenda and its details are included in the unpublished minutes?

Politics... You gotta love it.

  1. How can the minutes be posted if they haven't been approved? How could they be approved if there hasn't been a meeting between April 6th and now?

Twisting and politicizing a process as simple as publishing meeting minutes... You gotta love it.

  2. There is little time for twisting, but I'll readily admit to enjoying politicizing now and then. Why else blog?

I'm sure you're right about publishing minutes. But I can't accept that the utter lack of information in the public sphere regarding this vitally important situation and the municipality's intended moves was happenstance. There shouldn't have been a hundred people at town hall finding out for the first time what happened six weeks earlier and what was about to happen in two days. Maybe they should have used Reverse 911 to let the public know we were in dire straits? They could have at least published an alert on the web site. Why didn't they?

My trust level is at bottom after all the crap I've seen and heard this past year. You're free to think we're living in Mayberry and Andy Griffith's the sheriff if it makes you feel better.
